While attending the University of Denver, his friends and family witnessed his unwavering determination to overcome the odds stacked against him.
Driven by a desire to make a difference, Robert embarked on a successful career in sales, achieving remarkable heights of success. Yet, he realized that true fulfillment lay in dedicating his life to something more meaningful – supporting individuals on their own journeys of recovery and mental health. Taking a leap of faith, he embraced a side job managing a sober home, and it was in this role that he discovered his true calling.
Robert’s passion for recovery and mental health was undeniable, and with an unshakeable belief in the power of compassion and understanding, he decided to take a leap of faith. With boundless enthusiasm and unwavering dedication, Robert co-founded Sunlight Sober Living, a beacon of hope for those seeking a fresh start in life. With an impressive 15-year background of serving those less fortunate, Adams commitment to helping others is deeply ingrained in his being. His journey started by providing care and treatment to adults with physical and mental handicaps, followed by supporting abused children in residential facilities and various treatment settings. This wealth of experience culminated in managing several sober living houses before co-founding Sunlight Sober Living.
Hailing from Oxford, Mississippi, Adams is no stranger to the struggles of addiction and alcoholism, as he has personally confronted his own battles. Having witnessed the toll of addiction on family and friends, he understands the importance of finding a new, sober life and the profound impact recovery can have on one’s well-being.
As someone who has walked the path of recovery himself, Adams empathy and understanding are unparalleled. His personal experiences in treatment centers and sober living communities have honed his comprehension of the disease of addiction, making him uniquely qualified to guide others on their own journeys to sobriety.
